Master five bodyweight staples
Squats, push-ups, lunges, planks, and glute bridges train the whole body with zero equipment. If you can do three clean sets of each, you have a real routine.
Make them harder without weights: slow the tempo to four seconds down, add pauses at the bottom, or move to single-leg and incline variations.
One resistance band multiplies everything
A single loop band adds rows, pull-aparts, assisted pull-ups, and lateral walks — the pulling movements bodyweight alone struggles to provide.
Anchor it in a door for presses and rows, or step on it for curls and overhead presses. It costs little and travels anywhere.
Know when to add equipment
When you can do 20 clean reps of an exercise, it is training endurance, not building strength. That is the signal to add load: a kettlebell, dumbbells, or a weighted backpack.
Legs outgrow bodyweight first. A pair of adjustable dumbbells extends home training by years.
