Overview
A machine curl performed face down that isolates the hamstrings by bending your knees against resistance.
How to do it
Lie face down with your knees just past the edge of the pad.
Place the roller pad on the back of your lower legs, just above your heels.
Hold the handles and press your hips into the bench.
Curl your heels toward your glutes as far as you can.
Pause briefly, then lower the pad slowly until your legs are almost straight.
Tips
- Pull your toes toward your shins to help your hamstrings work.
- Take two to three seconds to lower each rep.
Common mistakes
- Lifting your hips off the pad to finish the curl.
- Swinging the weight up with momentum.
- Cutting the range short at the top or bottom.
